GROUND????? Imagine the speculation when this shinny "mirror like" stuff went under our honeycrisp trees! (no worries, it's not glass!)
Blake's Sister thought we put it there to soften the fall of the drops & to keep them clean for her horses! Sorry Jen, good thought though! ... This stuff reflects the sunlight to help improve the color underneath the canopy. And guess what, it's working SUPER FANTASTICALLY!
Doesn't that look good enough to eat right now??? (at least one more week before the first pick and Kal, I'm really NOT trying to tease you...I think a pairing knife & slicing the apple REALLY SKINNY just might work for you!!!!) When we were little, that's what Mom did for us ...then we would sneak the sugar bowl out to dip them in!!!!! OH.MY.GOODNESS.
We're so happy with this block of apples, now as long as there are no hurricanes... The rest of our help doesn't arrive until Friday & then we can begin! Our Gravensteins are all picked...yummy this year...and right now they are picking Macintosh...YUCK!!! I hate how the skin stays in your mouth for what seems like eternity... It's a little earlier this year for our Honeycrisp, for this block anyway.
SO, while Blake slaves away, I've been busy with a few classes in the barn, I think we're having lots of fun!?! It 's been so long since I'd tackled a 12 X12 page, it took me awhile, and this is the first one I came up with...
(so sorry about the photos, I don't have a clue how to take page pictures!!!) It wasn't meant to be a beach layout but the pictures of my GREAT nieces worked out really well (gotta love sweet little girls!). Then I wanted to do something with the maya road chipboard trees... I LOVE them:o)
What better photos than these ( ohhh... that apple crisp pie was yummy!)
It felt REALLY GOOD adding a couple of new pages to my scrapbook. Like so many others, we seem to create more mini books these days..like this one for class today & tomorrow (don't tell!!!)
Since my brother doesn't read my blog, I can tell you I'm filling this "little baby" with pictures of Dad for him...I know He'll love it :o) I'll post the Whole Album after class so you can have a peek inside.
On that note, it's late & we need to "skip up" to the cottage for "a hot tub" (as we say in the Valley!) Tomorrow?!? I'm starting a photo spinner with my friend Josee... We'll let you know how that goes (with 7 Gypsies it's ALL GOOD). I also have another project on the go for my Peeps at pages of 8+2...They bid BIG BUCKS at a fund raiser and WON THE BID for a weekend at our cottage... so I'd better make it WORTH THEIR WHILE!!!! Oh Happy Day:o))
